GTA 6 Release Date: Counting Down to November 19, 2026

Everything we know about the GTA 6 launch: the date, the preload window, the platforms and how to be ready the moment servers go live.

The wait is almost over. After years of teasers, leaks and a record-breaking first trailer, GTA 6 finally has a date on the calendar. Here is what launch day looks like.

The date

GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026. That places it right in the heart of the holiday window, the same slot that turned previous Rockstar releases into cultural events. Expect midnight launches and servers straining under the weight of an entire fandom returning to Vice City at once.

Preload and day one

Preload is set for November 12, 2026, a full week ahead of launch. Downloading early means you are ready to play the instant the game unlocks, with no waiting on a multi-gigabyte install while your friends are already causing chaos in Leonida.

Platforms

At launch, GTA 6 is a PS5 and Xbox Series X|S exclusive. There is no PC version at launch. Rockstar has historically brought PC editions to its games roughly a year or more after the console release, so PC players will likely need patience.

What to do while you wait

Lock in your edition on our Editions page, keep an eye on the News feed for confirmed details, and join the Forum or Fan Chat to count down with other fans. Launch day is close now.
