How GTA 6 Cheat Codes Will Likely Work on PS5 and Xbox

If GTA 6 follows the pattern set by GTA 5, entering a cheat will be quick, tactile and a little bit secret. Here is how the system has worked, and what to expect on console at launch.
Button combinations
On PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the most likely method is a directional and face-button combination entered during gameplay. In GTA 5 these were short sequences like triangle, right, right, left, right and so on. Get the sequence right and the effect triggers instantly, no menu required.
A returning cheat phone
GTA 5 also let you dial codes on the in-game phone, which made cheats easier to remember and re-use. A cheat phone would be a natural fit for GTA 6, and we would not be surprised to see it return alongside button combos.
The trophy trade-off
There is one important catch. In past games, activating a cheat disables trophies and achievements for that play session, and you usually cannot earn them again until you reload a save without cheats active. Expect the same rule here: cheats are for fun, not for padding your completion stats.
No PC at launch
Because there is no PC version at launch, the keyboard console-command style of cheats is off the table for now. Everything at release will be console-native.
