GTA 6 is set in the fictional state of Leonida, a modern take on Florida, and Rockstar has called it the largest and most detailed world in the series to date. Here is the lay of the land.
Vice City
The neon-soaked metropolis at the center of it all. Rockstar has reimagined modern Miami as a bigger, denser Vice City, packed with nightlife, beaches and the kind of trouble the series is famous for.
The Leonida Keys
A chain of sun-bleached islands and causeways stretching south of the city. Think boats, bridges and small-town secrets, a quieter contrast to the bright lights of the strip.
The Wetlands
Everglades-style swamps and backwaters sit inland: airboats, gators and plenty of remote places to disappear off the grid when the heat is on.
Beaches and coast
Miles of coastline, palm-lined boulevards and postcard sunsets frame the whole state, tying the city and the wilds together.
How big is it?
Rockstar has not confirmed an exact square mileage, but everything shown so far points to a sprawling, dense world. We will update our Map & Setting page with verified details as they land.
